Sometime around Emma’s second birthday, we were out for a walk and encountered 2 dogs.  We told her that there were two dogs, just like she was about to turn two years old.  Well, something got confused and when you asked her how old she was, she would answer “two doggies.”  That’s what this cake made me think of.

The cake is lemon with lemon buttercream frosting.  The mini cupcakes are chocolate and vanilla.  The dogs are made from a mix of fondant and gum paste and are completely edible.
