On a roll…

Dinner:
Emma is Dora and Diego obsessed and I thought it would be fun to plan a meal around that tonight. The best I could come up with was wrapping some hummus up in a tortilla and decorating it like Map from Dora. His face does make him look a little demented, but I was totally melting in my kitchen and I had to get out of there. Emma ended up eating most of this here (she especially loved the “Explorer Stars”) and she also had some of the spaghetti from our dinner. I don’t know if this is really working out for me or if I just caught her on a good day. Whatever it is, I hope her appetite stays this way.
Lunch:

Panda rice; white peach "boat" with watermelon and blueberry "sail;" peanuts, raisins and cashews; star pita with hummus
I got the idea for the panda rice from here. Mine’s not quite as good, but I haven’t had any practice and I pretty much had to wing it. All I did was wrap 2 rice balls in some nori for the ears. The head is a bigger rice ball. The eyes are pieces of nori that I cut out with scissors. The nose is a smaller, oval shaped rice ball with another nori cutout.
I also plan to order A LOT of stuff from here once they actually have stuff in stock. That will definitely make it easier to have “cute” lunches.
As I was cutting up her peach, the shape of it made me think of boat. A toothpick, watermelon and a blueberry made a sail. So easy! The rest is sort of a hodge podge of snacky things.
The best part: SHE ATE ALL OF IT, EXCEPT FOR THE PANDA’S EARS! This is amazing. I’m definitely on a roll here. Now, I have to think of something creative for dinner.
Breakfast:

Apple-carrot-raisin "cupcake;" fruit skewers of melon, banana, strawberries and grapes; vanilla coconut yogurt
(a terrible photo, I know… Emma woke up at 5:15 this morning, so this was served way before the sun was even out!)
Of this, she ate all of the fruit except the banana and all of her yogurt. She really, really seems to like the vanilla and blueberry flavors of the yogurt the best.

That panda is fabulous! Great job! I’m so glad that Emma enjoyed her lunch!
I love the rice panda! And the Dora inspired dinner is awesome.
