Emma’s Food

I mentioned in a previous post that the outside of our house is being painted. They were so loud yesterday that I couldn’t stand to be home. I was also so paranoid that the painteres could somehow see me, so I had to shower in a bathing suit. Yes, I am a little neurotic at times.
Anyway, so we packed it up and went to the park for a while. Here’s what we took for snack:
I found these vegan fruit snacks at Whole Foods the other day. The texture is more gelatinous than regular fruit snacks (like more jello-y (so not a word, I know), less chewy). Hard to describe. Emma likes them. The Tubes are also super cool. It’s another of Robert’s American Gourmet snacks (same brand as the Ting’s). These are like a cross between a potato chip and a french fry. The regular Tubes are all potato, while the Veggie Tubes are potato, and (I think) the green ones are spinach. The orange ones may be beet or some other orangish/redish vegetable. Anyway, they’re yummy!
Dinner:
If you’ve never tried Alphatot’s, you’re missing out! I buy the veggie kind (has some sort of green/orange vegetable mixed with the potato), so it’s not so bad. Emma loves ‘em!
Correction: Alphatot’s are the plain potato ones. The ones we buy are Supertots, which have peas, cauliflower, and carrots mixed in with the potatoes.

I need to take another serious look at the Robert’s American Gourmet snacks next time I’m at Whole Foods. I just assumed they weren’t vegan, but I’m so glad some of them are.
As far as I know, the only ones that aren’t vegan are the Pirate’s Booty or similar products coated in cheese powder. I think the Tubes and the Tings are my personal favorites!
