Yuck! I buy my body wash at either Whole Foods or Trader Joe's. Both are stamped as being cruelty free which (I hope) means that there are no animal ingredients in them and not just that they aren't tested on animals. I know the one from WF is vegan because they won't sell any cosmetics that are tested on animals or that contain animal products.

It's just so gross! Before we know it, animals and animal by-products will be in everything!

We recently moved from body wash to bar soap to get away from the sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS) in body wash. When we were researching bar soap ingredients, I was surprised to find out that Ivory soap, which is advertised as really pure, contains sodium tallowate - aka animal fat.

That list is huge! We try to read labels for HFCS, partially hydrogenated anything, and color additives, so I can imagine what it's like to really have to study every ingredient. I agree with the less ingredients the better.

The China Study is on my list of books to read in the not-too-distant future. I hope to get to it one day. Thanks for the recommendation.

Thank you so much for this priceless "shopping list". It is difficult now days to know what is in products due to creative labeling. I work with clay both externally and internally, and try in every way to keep our food sources pure, part of that is not eating meat or dairy. The China Study by T. Colin Campbell ( one of our this countrys top nutritionists)is well worth the read.
Thanks for sharing,
